Newsflash March 2021: Bruges is alive!

18 march 2021

Amid high hopes for further easing of measures, we are pleased to learn that the Bruges sector is taking matters in hand.  In our monthly newsletter, we take a look at what is moving and shaking in Bruges.

Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre (BMCC) site update

The Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre team has been working hard. They recently joined the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA). With its membership, the BMCC taps into years of experience and expertise within the international meeting sector. Visit Bruges Convention Bureau has also been an active member of ICCA for the last few years.

We would also like to give an update of the BMCC building works.

  • Exhibition area: the windows are being fitted in the roof
  • Façade: the fins and windows are being fitted
  • Catering area: the construction of level +4 is underway

Triennial Bruges 2021 ‘TraumA’ is around the corner

From 8 May to 24 October 2021, Bruges will once again be the ultimate destination for lovers of contemporary art and architecture. Triennial Bruges is about to be held for the third time. Thirteen artists and architects will be presenting new, temporary installations in the historic heart of the UNESCO World Heritage City. As the different works of art fall within the theme of ‘TraumA’, the three-yearly art and architecture trail shifts the focus from the public space to a number of hidden dimensions of the city and its residents.

Perhaps a visit to Triennial Bruges is an opportunity to organise an outdoor incentive? Feel free to contact us to discover the options.

Hotel Dukes' Palace 5* Superior to expand

Good news for Hotel Dukes' Palace because the hotel will be adding an extension on the side of Moerstraat.  Upon completion of the renovation works, the hotel will boast 135 rooms, which is 25 more than it has at present.  In addition to an increase in the number of rooms, the garden will be given a top-quality make-over.  One of the hotel's assets will, more than ever, be a true paradise.
