Tips for organising a successful corporate event

During a corporate event, a company invites its employees, business partners or potential clients. This may include a company party, an outdoor meeting or a multi-day conference. A corporate event may therefore have many facets, but the approach to organising it remains largely the same.

How do you approach the organisation of your corporate event?

Tip 1: Plan ahead of time. The better the preparation, the greater the chance of success.

Tip 2: Consider carefully the objective, the target audience and the type of corporate event. This will give you a number of basic conditions under which you can validate your decisions.

Tip 3: Determine your budget and keep an eye on it.

Tip 4: Choose a date that fits your target audience’s schedule. Take into account holiday periods, trade fair periods and competitive events in the city.

Tip 5: Choose the most ideal location. Don’t hesitate to turn to someone with experience in this field. Visit Bruges Convention Bureau is perfectly situated to find the right location for you in Bruges.

Tip 6: Love goes through the stomach. Don’t underestimate the power of good catering as a flavouring enhancer for your corporate event.

Tip 7: Go for a happy audience and provide entertainment. Plan a moment of relaxation or a cultural activity.

Tip 8: Make the right arrangements. A roadmap in function of the programme of your event is an excellent tool for this. This way, all parties involved will know what to do and your corporate event will run smoothly.

Tip 9: Communicate! Keep the invitations in mind, send out the programme on time, communicate with the press, and use social media.

Tip 10: Be prepared for the worst-case scenario.  Decide what needs to be done, for example, in case of cancellation.
